Domain names should be related to your site’s topic or business. For example: VisitTurkey.com would be for a site about visiting Turkey.
If you have a florist’s business, then an example would be bestbouquets.com. All domain names are unique and your first choice may already be taken.

Choose a Hosting Package
A hosting package is simply a way to store your website online so it can be accessed from a web browser.
It is very important to choose the right hosting package for your needs. It is easy to overpay for something you don’t need but also cheap is not always best.

Design Your Site
Once you have your domain name and hosting package sorted, we can start designing your site according to your needs. I say we because its a collaboration between me the designer and you the customer.
Depending on your needs it can take a day or less to have your site up and running or longer. A lot depends on how many pages you need, how much content needs to be written and whether it needs to include e-commerce (selling products or services online).
Bespoke or Template?
There are literally millions of templates out there for every kind of website. Most are easily adaptable to your specific needs. Together, with AI it is very easy to come up with a beautiful design that is versatile and affordable.
A bespoke website is one that is crafted for your unique and very specific needs. However, the distinction between the two is not so relevant today. This is because most websites are based on WordPress and use themes and plugins as a starting point. These are then easily tweaked to suit your particular needs, with bespoke images and content.
Also, the introduction of AI has completely changed web design (for the better in my opinion). This means it is not only easier (quicker and cheaper) to get a website from scratch, but also easier to tweak things.
What does a website cost?
The cost of a website is made up of 3 parts:
- Domain name costs
- Hosting costs
- Design costs
Domain name costs depend on how many domain names you register (.co.uk, .com would be minimal number in my view). Usually you get one free for the 1st year of a hosting package. Hosting costs vary but my recommended package from Hostinger costs less than £5 pcm. Website design costs depend on how many pages you need, how many images there are and how much content you need.
